Obesity affects more than 100 million adults in the U.S. and represents an urgent national problem. Traditional weight loss programs have failed to achieve improved outcomes that are sustainable and improve Americans’ long-term health.^

Obesity is deeply influenced by our cultural environment, societal norms, genetics, and daily behaviors. Factors like depression, anxiety, social determinants, loneliness, emotional burnout, poor sleep, and limited access to healthy foods and healthy eating skills are key drivers to address.

New effective, but costly, anti-obesity medications (AOMs), such as GLP-1s, are now available. But they are probably best used only as short term clinical tools and prescribed as part of a comprehensive, long term obesity management approach.*
